Extracurricular Activities

In addition, our vibrant extra-curricular programs, such as sports, cultural festivals, music, and drama clubs, promote teamwork, leadership, and a healthy balance between academics and personal growth. These activities are designed to foster well-rounded individuals prepared for both professional challenges and personal achievements.

The student , staff and respected members of the management, joyfully celebrated the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami at Vikash Degree College, Bhawanipatna, filled with devotion, delight, and festive fervour. The festivities included, Dahi Handi: A thrilling and energetic celebration, and devotion dedicated to Lord Krishna.

Melodies of Bond: A Raksha Bandhan Musical Night celebrated at Vikash Degree College, Bhawanipatna.

The outbound program was conducted by JCI, Mr. R. S. V. Krishna , Vice Principal, VDC, Bargarh, and JCI trainer of International repute , Mr. Harish Agarwal at Vikash wisdom Park. The newly inducted undergraduate students of Vikash Degree College, Bhawanipatna were imparted lessons on leadership, time management, coordination and motivation.

Nuakhai bhetghat was celebrated in Vikash Degree College Bhawanipatna and the event was marked with cultural performances, dances, songs, poems along with regional delicacies. Sj . Rajesh Mohapatra, Ex. Editor of Hindustan Times Graced the occasion as chief guest. Eminent Poet, Sj. Biranchi Narayan Mund, Ghumura Guru, Sj. Markanda Nayak, Eminent entrepreneur Sj. Ashok Pattnaik, District Correspondent, Sambad, Sj. D. Nageswar Rao, Chairman, Laxmi Vikash Group of Institutions, along with all respected Management members, Principals deliberated on the occasion.

International Yoga Day was observed on Date. 21-06-2024 at Vikash Degree College, Bhawanipatna and Yoga instructors Mrs Kavita Khetan & Mrs Puspa Sahu imparted yoga classes to students and faculty members. Respected Director , Principals, Faculty Members and students participated in this program and made it a great success.

Educon 2024, a capacity building programme for Faculty members, was successfully organized at Vikash High Global, Bhubaneswar from 16th July- 17th July. Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Honourable Vice Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University, in his address mentioned the role of innovation, its application in NEP 2020 and its contribution for Education 4.0. Mr. Mukesh Ashar, International training fellow, entrepreneur and motivator and Mr. Anup Mundra, leadership coach and entrepreneur, imparted training on smart strategy for leadership, effective communication, ethics and moral values. Outdoor activities on team building, time management, concentration on effective plans etc. were also successfully conducted for the participants. Respected Management members, Galaxy of Principals and more than 100 Participants from Bargarh, Sambalpur & Bhawanipatna actively participated in the two days training Programme.

Cycle Rally for Voter awareness in Bhawanipatna City- a social initiative by Vikash Group of Institutions, Bhawanipatna

The picnic on 28th January , at Bhatra dam, a picturesque location with ample greenery, open spaces, and recreational facilities. The chosen venue provided a perfect backdrop for the day’s activities and encouraged a relaxed atmosphere. The turnout for the picnic was impressive and the variety and abundance of delicious food,music, dance and sports activities ensured that everyone could participate and enjoy the day to the fullest. The picnic was a resounding success, fostering a sense of unity among the students. It served as a welcome break from academic responsibilities and allowed students to relax and recharge.

In a radiant spectacle the Puja Pandal was illuminated with diyas and adorned with vibrant  charm of Rangolis   by utmost devotion of  our students  mirroring the jubilation for Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. The soothing and sacred chants of Sandhya Bhajan by our  immersive students hypothesized a divine presence all around the premises of our college

Students of Vikash Degree College Bhawanipatna participated in 14th National Voters Day 2024,Organized by District Administration, Kalahandi

The extravagant event VI-Fest 2.o of 2024 was successfully organized with much fanfare and exuberance showcasing a wide range of thrilling and exciting competitions which were testimonies for fuelling passion, unleashing innovations, benchmarking one’s aptitude, developing skillsets of students. The event culminated with a memorable note and left an indelible imprint. The occasion was graced by Prof.(Dr.) Manoranjan Satpathy, Hon’ble Dean of College of Agriculture, Bhawanipatna and Esteemed Executive Director Sj. D. Nageswar Rao Sir along with other respected Management members of the occasion. They apprised the students the importance of celebration of the Mega event and its impact on their professional advancement and self-reliance. It comprised many competitions like PPT and Poster presentations, food fest and a lot of fun. Students from different colleges in Bhawanipatna participated and shared their expertise. The badminton court and cafeteria lounge was inaugurated on the occasion.

Van Mahotsav, also known as the “Festival of Trees,” was celebrated in Vikash Degree College, Bhawanipatna, to promote tree planting and increase awareness about the importance of trees in the environment. Respected Management members along with Principals faculty, and students participated in planting saplings around the campus.

Voluntary unpaid donation is the key to building a safe and sustainable blood supply. Access to a secure blood supply on the voluntary unpaid donation is vital for all patients including many requiring life long and regular transfusions. The management & staff conveys its heartfelt gratitude to all the voluntary blood donors for helping us to fulfill our social commitment and enabling us to collect 106 units of blood on the camp at the degree campus organized jointly by VRS, VHSS & VHEI, Bhawanipatna on 4th October 2023.

Co- curricular activities

At our institution, we believe in the holistic development of our students beyond the classroom. Our co-curricular activities, including debates, case study competitions, coding contests, and business plan presentations, complement academic learning by enhancing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. These activities provide students with platforms to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.
